Training tables have to work as a classroom in the morning and an open event space by afternoon. Pacific Ergonomics has planned and installed training rooms for corporate offices, universities, hospitals and government agencies for over 25 years, and we build each room around how often it changes, how many people it seats and where the power is.
Sized for real work. A 24″ deep table fits a notebook and a laptop. A 30″ deep table fits a laptop, a second screen or a lab kit. We plan 30″ of width per person so trainees are not bumping elbows, and we leave aisles wide enough to move tables without clearing the room first.
Every table we specify meets ANSI/BIFMA commercial standards for strength and stability. Tell us about your training room and we will lay out table options that fit.

Choosing the Right Training Tables
The right table depends on how often the room changes. A room that resets every week needs tables that move easily. A dedicated computer lab needs tables that hold screens and cable. Here is how the main types compare.
Nesting training tables. The top flips up and the tables roll together against a wall. One person can clear a room in minutes, which makes them the best fit for multi-use rooms. See nesting training tables.
Mobile training tables with dividers. The same flip and nest function, plus privacy panels and power that links from table to table. A good fit for testing, certification and focused work. See mobile training tables with dividers.
Conference room training tables. Heavier tables that set up in rows for a class or push together for a meeting. Best when one room does both. See conference room training tables.
Sit-stand training desks with recessed monitors. The monitor sits under a glass window in the worksurface, so the trainer can see every student and the room stays open. Electric height adjustment lets each person sit or stand. Built for software training and computer labs. See sit-stand training desks.
Collaborative and modular tables. Trapezoid, half round and other shapes that combine into pods for group work, then break apart for lecture. See modular tables.
Power and data. Plan power before you pick tables. Edge-mounted power that links table to table works for rows, while grommets and cable trays keep cords off the floor in fixed layouts.
Casters or glides. Locking casters make tables easy to move. Glides keep a table from creeping in a room that rarely changes.
Modesty and privacy panels. Modesty panels give a clean look from the front of the room. Divider panels add privacy for testing and cut visual distraction.
Seating. Training tables work best with chairs that stack or nest the same way. We quote tables and training room chairs together so the whole room clears at once.
Most training tables are 24″ or 30″ deep and 48″ to 72″ wide. A 60″ table seats two people comfortably, and a 72″ table seats two with extra room for screens or materials. Choose 30″ deep if people use laptops with a second monitor.
A common planning range is 20 to 25 square feet per person for classroom-style rows, which covers the table, chair and aisle space. Rooms with sit-stand desks or large screens need more. We lay out the room on your floor plan before you order.
Commercial flip top tables are built for daily use and tested to ANSI/BIFMA standards. The top locks flat for work and only releases when someone pulls the lever, so it will not fold while in use.
